SMCA in the Midst of Covid-19

SMCA in the Midst of Covid-19

Following the discovery that Covid-19, a novel coronavirus is present in the United States, Governor Hogan mandated the close of Maryland schools for two weeks (March 16-27, 2020). A directive Southern Maryland Christian Academy followed as well.  Yet, in order to finish the third quarter of the school year with strength, SMCA’s students and teachers continue to work from their respective homes.  The taken-for-granted digital tools of websites, email, Renweb, Google-tools, Zoom, video recordings, and social media become heavily relied upon during this time frame of the slightly-morphed mode of education.  The pictures seen here reflect that though the location has changed, SMCA students during this time still work hard to complete their teacher’s required assignments.  An Important aspect to all that SMCA does is keeping Christ first.  Also pictured is a still shot of a videoed chapel service offered to preschool and elementary students by Mrs. Colein and Mrs. B during week one of the shutdown. We are proud of our students and teachers as they adapt to be able to continue education.
