It's Not Too Late: Spring Drama Production

Every spring, the drama club brings the SMCA family a production that is Christ-oriented. This year’s spring performance, “It’s Not Too Late,” faced the audience with the hard truths of life and allowed for personal conviction for each individual. The play was based on the events of the Columbine shooting in 1999. Sophomore Alayna Cox played Lisa Caldwell, who shared her faith with several students. She was killed in the end for her faith by Jason Holmes who was played by Nicholas Cox. Mr. Brooks, played by Steven Hall, was disguised as Jesus and helped the students through their journey. This shows how Jesus, in the midst of tragedy and pain, is still present and caring. The play was very impactful and an overall success. The students involved in the play delivered the thought provoking message beautifully and truly made each audience member ask themselves the most important question: “what choice will you make?”
