SMCA Welcomes Mr. Patton as Dean of Discipline

As SMCA begins the 2025–2026 academic year, we are pleased to welcome a new face in a new position: Mr. Tim Patton, Sr., Dean of Discipline for middle and high school.

Mr. Patton brings with him more than two decades of experience in School Administration and Operations within the School District of Philadelphia. His extensive background has equipped him with the skills to foster both structure and support within the school environment. At SMCA, he looks forward to serving in a setting where he can integrate faith with education, guiding students not only in discipline but also in spiritual growth.

In his new role, Mr. Patton is already making an impact—whether through meaningful conversations that help students focus on future success, encouraging them with Mustang Ticket incentives, or supporting teachers to ensure the school day runs smoothly.

Known for his “firm but fair” approach, Mr. Patton is taking the time to build relationships with students while setting a tone of respect and accountability. His calm, steady presence reflects his favorite verse, Isaiah 26:3:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Beyond his administrative leadership, we look forward to experiencing Mr. Patton’s musical talents, which he joyfully uses to honor the Lord.

We are grateful to welcome Mr. Patton to the SMCA faculty and anticipate the many ways his dedication and faith will enrich our school community.

Mrs. Sharlene Thompson
