Southern Maryland Christian Academy (SMCA) is excited to announce that we have successfully earned reaccreditation! This achievement reflects God’s faithfulness, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the unwavering support of our families and school community.

From April 19–22, SMCA had the privilege of welcoming an accreditation team from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Our visiting team consisted of five experienced educators representing Christian schools from across the region. It was truly a blessing to host them on our campus and share the mission and ministry of Southern Maryland Christian Academy.

Throughout their visit, the team met with parents, teachers, students, staff members, and board representatives to gain a comprehensive understanding of our school community. They observed classrooms, reviewed lesson plans and curriculum mapping, examined school policies and procedures, and experienced firsthand the vibrant learning environment our students enjoy each day.

The accreditation team shared many encouraging observations during their time at SMCA. Through their conversations and observations, they noted the strong Christ-centered atmosphere that is evident throughout our campus. They recognized the dedication of our teachers and staff to providing academic excellence while also nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and personal growth of every student.

One of the highlights consistently mentioned by the team was SMCA’s welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere. They appreciated the opportunity to engage with so many members of our school community and were encouraged by the strong relationships and sense of partnership among our families, faculty, and staff. The team observed a genuine sense of unity and shared purpose that supports our mission of educating students from a biblical worldview.

We are incredibly thankful for the time, encouragement, and insight provided by the accreditation team. The accreditation process allows us to celebrate the areas in which we are thriving while also helping us identify opportunities for continued growth and improvement. The feedback and recommendations provided by the visiting team will help guide us as we continue to pursue excellence in Christian education.

Most importantly, we are grateful to God for His continued faithfulness to SMCA and for the wonderful community He has built here. This reaccreditation is a testament to His provision and guidance throughout every season of our school’s journey.

We extend our sincere thanks to our parents, students, faculty, staff, board members, and supporters who played a role in making this accreditation visit such a positive and meaningful experience. Your partnership, commitment, and prayers continue to make Southern Maryland Christian Academy a place where students are challenged academically, nurtured spiritually, and prepared to impact the world for Christ.
