Transportation Day Rolls into SMCA
On Thursday, May 14th, our early education and elementary students enjoyed an exciting and educational Transportation Day at Southern Maryland Christian Academy! The day was filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and lots of smiles as students had the opportunity to see a wide variety of vehicles up close.
We were blessed to welcome several unique and impressive vehicles to campus, including a fire truck, rescue boat, RV, hot rods, and slingshots. Students eagerly explored each vehicle, learned about how they operate, and spoke with the individuals who use them in everyday life and service to the community.
One of the highlights of the day was climbing aboard the ambulance and exploring the rescue boat, where students learned about safety, emergency response, and the important role first responders play in protecting our community. The hot rods and slingshots brought excitement and curiosity as students admired the creativity and engineering behind these specialty vehicles. The RV also gave students a glimpse into travel and transportation on the road.
Transportation Day provided a wonderful opportunity for experiential learning while encouraging students to ask questions, discover new interests, and connect classroom concepts to the real world. Most importantly, it was a day filled with fellowship, laughter, and appreciation for the many ways transportation helps people serve, work, and travel.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the families and community members who volunteered their time and vehicles to make this special day possible for our students. Your support helped create lasting memories and meaningful learning experiences for everyone involved.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
