The Final Whistle: Fall Athletics

The Final Whistle: Fall Athletics.

Our Mustangs have given it all they had on the soccer field and volleyball court this season. The varsity soccer teams were very competitive this year and both the boys and girls teams ended the season in the playoffs after losing the semifinal game. For the first time in Mustang history, a Volleyball team played at home in our very own gym. We have not had a volleyball team since 2003, so it was very exciting to have the sport return to our school after 14 years. Volleyball teams in the past have played outside or at an off campus gym. That was not the case this year; the girls were able to play in our 3-year-old gym with a home court advantage. We are looking forward to the continued growth of our athletic program as our new Athletic Director, Paul Tarry, continues to implement new athletic opportunities for our students.

A Word From Our Volleyball Coach:

“What a blessing it was to have the opportunity to coach this group of girls this season. There were so many things that happened this season that you could see His work throughout the team. We were led by four girls that had to start not only a new school this year but start up a new team. Their experience was vital in leading our SMCA team this inaugural year. The leadership from these seasoned young ladies was exceptional and gave our new players something to work towards. The growth in our new team members in such a short season was tremendous. Looking to the future, it is exciting to know we have a competitive group of girls that love volleyball and have a heart for Jesus.”
